Students, professionals and just plain interested folks are welcome to join us for the annual (and free!) Student Research Colloquium next Friday, November 1 at Portland State University. We’re excited to have Dr. Wendy Palen, aquatic ecologist and conservationist from Simon Fraser University, as our keynote speaker. You’ll get to hear student speakers present their research on subjects ranging from salmonid survival to butterfly conservation, and review many student posters covering a wide range of research interests. Poster abstracts are still being accepted, so you are welcome to submit for a poster of your own here. Cash prizes will go to the best student poster!

In support of this student-led colloquium, we’re having a fundraiser at the generous Coalition Brewing tonight, October 25, from 6 to 8pm, so join us for a beer and support students in environmental science. But we especially hope to see you next Friday, November 1, 2013, at the Smith Memorial Ballroom at Portland State University from 9:30am to 4:00pm for the colloquium.
